We’re recruiting for an experienced CNC Team Lead to join a well-established engineering business based in Poole. This is a hands-on leadership role supporting Shift B operations within a busy machining and manufacturing environment.
The company is looking for a strong CNC Team Lead who can lead from the front, support machinists on the shop floor, and ensure production targets, quality standards, and operational performance are consistently achieved.
This role would suit someone with previous CNC machining or workshop leadership experience who enjoys motivating teams, improving processes, and maintaining high standards across safety, quality, and productivity.

Role Overview As a CNC Team Lead, your responsibilities will include:

• Leading, managing, and motivating a team of machinists across Shift B
• Supporting day-to-day CNC machining and workshop operations
• Ensuring all health & safety, COSHH, and risk assessment procedures are followed
• Delivering daily, weekly, and monthly production and OTD targets
• Running shift meetings, toolbox talks, and performance briefings
• Driving Continuous Improvement, Lean, and TPM initiatives
• Supporting training, competence, and development of team members
• Investigating quality, safety, and production issues using root cause analysis
• Supporting smooth handovers across double day shift operations

This is a practical leadership role suited to a proactive CNC Team Lead who is comfortable balancing people management with operational performance.

What They’re Looking For The business is keen to speak with candidates who have experience leading teams within CNC machining or manufacturing environments.
You’ll ideally have:

• Previous supervisory or leadership experience within CNC or machining environments
• Strong understanding of CNC machining processes and workshop operations
• Proven ability to lead teams and improve performance
• Experience working toward production targets and operational efficiency goals
• Knowledge of health & safety procedures within manufacturing
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

The following would also be beneficial:

• Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or TPM experience
• Experience managing shift-based teams
• Formal leadership or supervisory training
