Quality Manager salary: £50,000 – £55,000

Quality Manager Overview:

  • Own the site QMS and keep key certifications audit-ready and compliant
  • Lead NCR control end-to-end, driving root cause and prevention, not repeat issues
  • Take full accountability for product quality assurance across the business
  • Lead and develop the inspection function, equipment and training standards
  • Act as the main quality contact for customers and suppliers, reporting performance clearly

 
This Quality Manager role reports into senior leadership and gives full autonomy to run quality on site. The Quality Manager will be the first point of contact for quality across products and processes, ensuring conformity is achieved across the business. The Quality Manager will manage the quality system, lead non-conformance activity, maintain audit readiness, and support the inspection team to meet customer requirements in a regulated environment.
 
Day-to-day responsibilities of a Quality Manager

  • Implement, manage and maintain the Quality Management System and ensure continued compliance against certifications
  • Plan, lead and execute non-conformance activity, including root cause, corrective actions and full NCR completion/submission
  • Drive audit actions to closure, ensuring fixes are implemented and controlled
  • Host and support internal and external audits including customer and accreditation body audits
  • Support the business with any new accreditations/certifications required
  • Lead the Quality Inspection function including equipment, mentoring, training and day-to-day standards
  • Act as the main point of contact for customer and supplier quality matters and build strong working relationships
  • Produce quality reporting including supplier performance and internal/external non-conformance reporting
  • Communicate quality requirements clearly across the business and support teams to meet customer requirements
  • Support contract review activity for the quality function as required

 
What they’re looking for – Quality Manager

  • Quality Manager experience (or equivalent senior quality leadership) in a regulated manufacturing environment
  • Confident leading audits internally and externally and keeping systems in control between audits
  • Strong non-conformance management experience, including supplier and customer returns and database control
  • Solid knowledge of regulated standards and certification environments (AS9100, ISO 14001, NADCAP)
  • Clear communicator with strong written and spoken English, able to influence at all levels
  • Methodical, detail-focused approach with strong problem-solving capability
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office and quality reporting expectations
  • Able to lead and mentor inspectors and drive consistent inspection outcomes

 
Desirable – Quality Manager

  • NADCAP audit experience
  • Exposure to fabrication, welding and CNC machining environments
  • Understanding of technical welding qualifications
  • Experience reporting supplier performance, quality performance and OTIF measures
