Factory Operative

Joining the production team, the Factory Operative will support a range of metalworking operations while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

This is a varied, hands-on Factory Operative role where attention to detail and the ability to follow engineering instructions are essential.
The successful Factory Operative will be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out PEM serting operations using appropriate press equipment
• Operate press brake machinery to bend and form sheet metal components
• Perform counter sinking to specification and engineering drawings
• Drill and tap components accurately to required tolerances
• Interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions
• Conduct basic quality checks to ensure parts meet required standards
• Maintain a clean and organised work area in line with 5S principles
• Adhere to all health and safety procedures

Essential Skills:

• Previous experience in a sheet metal or fabrication environment
• Experience with PEM serting, press brake operation, drilling, and tapping
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Understanding of workshop health and safety practices

Desirable Experience:

• Experience working within a manufacturing environment
• Basic knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
