Production Planner

I am recruiting on behalf of my client, a well-established and highly respected manufacturing business, who are looking to strengthen their planning function with the addition of a Production Scheduler / Production Planner.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a structured and collaborative environment where the Production Scheduler / Production Planner will play a pivotal role in ensuring production runs efficiently, resources are fully optimised, and customer delivery commitments are consistently achieved.

The successful Production Scheduler / Production Planner will take ownership of production planning activities, working closely with key departments to ensure schedules are aligned with operational capacity and business priorities.
This Production Scheduler / Production Planner position offers genuine scope to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and drive operational efficiency across the manufacturing process.

As a Production Scheduler / Production Planner, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining accurate production schedules to meet customer demand
  • Coordinating with manufacturing, procurement, quality, and engineering teams
  • Monitoring production progress and adjusting schedules to ensure on-time delivery
  • Ensuring efficient utilisation of labour, materials, and equipment
  • Identifying and resolving scheduling conflicts or resource constraints
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the planning function
  • Using ERP systems to manage and track production activity

To be successful in this Production Scheduler / Production Planner role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in a production planning or scheduling role within manufacturing
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP systems
  • Experience using AMADA software with a clear understanding of nesting processes (essential)
  • The ability to coordinate effectively across multiple departments
  • Strong organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Experience monitoring and adjusting production schedules in line with business needs

Desirable experience for the Production Scheduler / Production Planner includes:

  • Understanding of quality control standards and their integration into production scheduling
  • Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience analysing production data to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies
