Procurement Coordinator

A well-established, globally operating engineering and technology services organisation based in Dorset is seeking a highly motivated Procurement Coordinator to join its commercial operations team.

This business has over 30 years’ experience delivering specialist lifecycle solutions within a critical infrastructure sector, supporting customers internationally with complex equipment, parts supply, maintenance, and refurbishment services.

This is a permanent role offering up to £30,000 DOE, working Monday to Friday in Poole.

Duties for the Successful Procurement Coordinator

  • Manage the end-to-end sourcing process for materials and services
  • Issue and oversee RFQs, ensuring supplier engagement is fast, competitive, and reliable
  • Provide rapid and accurate updates on pricing, stock availability, and alternative sourcing solutions to support live sales opportunities
  • Work closely with sales and operations teams to ensure customer demand can be met without delay
  • Proactively research and introduce new suppliers, lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favourable pricing, terms, and supply conditions
  • Monitor supplier performance and compliance, including regular reviews against agreed service levels
  • Take ownership of supplier agreements
  • Maintain daily oversight of inventory positions to support short-term and weekly demand planning
  • Support ongoing development of procurement processes, contributing ideas to improve speed, efficiency, and cost control

Requirements to be Considered for this Procurement Coordinator

  • Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain coordination
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to balance cost, quality, and delivery
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience using ERP or procurement systems
