Paint Sprayer
I am recruiting on behalf of my client, a well-established manufacturing business, who are looking to strengthen their Paint Shop team with the addition of a Paint Sprayer.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Paint Sprayer to join a highly regulated environment, with a strong emphasis on MOD (Ministry of Defence) standards and quality requirements.
The successful Paint Sprayer will play a key role in delivering high-quality finishes on precision-engineered components, ensuring all work meets strict MOD specifications and compliance standards. This Paint Sprayer position is ideally suited to someone who takes pride in their workmanship and has experience working within defence or similarly regulated industries.
As a Paint Sprayer, you will be responsible for:
- Priming and applying finish coatings to manufactured items to a very high standard
- Preparing, masking, and inspecting components prior to and after painting
- Working to technical specifications including MTDS and MSDS guidelines
- Ensuring correct paint mixing ratios and maintaining accurate paint records
- Baking components in line with material specifications and thickness requirements
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings for masking and finishing requirements
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant working environment in line with MOD expectations
- Ensuring all work meets strict quality standards and production deadlines
- Accurately completing MRP bookings and tracking time against jobs
To be successful in this Paint Sprayer role, you will need:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in industrial or manufacturing painting
- Strong knowledge of paint systems including stove enamel, 2-pack epoxy/polyurethane, and acrylics
- Proven experience working to high-quality standards within MOD, defence, or similarly regulated environments (highly desirable)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong understanding of film thickness, gloss levels, and finishing standards
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to inspect your own work
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with production systems
- Strong awareness of health and safety within a paint shop, particularly in regulated environments
Desirable experience for the Paint Sprayer includes:
- Previous direct MOD or defence-related project experience
- Experience working within highly regulated, audit-driven manufacturing environments
In return, the Paint Sprayer will benefit from:
- A stable and supportive manufacturing environment
- Opportunity to work on high-specification MOD and defence-related products
- Ongoing support and development within the role
If you are an experienced Paint Sprayer with exposure to MOD or defence standards and are looking to join a professional, quality-driven team, this is a role well worth considering.
