We are recruiting for an experienced CNC Turner Programmer to join a well-established precision engineering business in Ferndown. This is a permanent opportunity suited to someone who enjoys combining hands-on machining with programming responsibility, working to tight tolerances in a quality-driven environment.
The Role
You will be responsible for programming, setting, and operating CNC lathes using FANUC controls, producing high-spec components within a skilled and supportive team.
Key responsibilities:
- Programming, setting, and operating CNC lathes using FANUC controls
- Working with live tooling and multi-axis lathes where required
- Producing components to detailed engineering drawings and specifications
- Inspecting and measuring components to ensure quality and accuracy
- Maintaining tight tolerances and high-quality standards
- Liaising with quality and production teams to support consistent output
- Identifying and contributing to process and efficiency improvements
- Maintaining a clean and organised work area in line with 5S standards
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a CNC Turner Programmer
- Strong working knowledge of FANUC-controlled CNC lathes
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings accurately
- Methodical approach with strong attention to detail
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable
- Experience with multi-axis CNC turning
- Exposure to live tooling environments
- Previous experience within a precision engineering or aerospace environment
