 Quality Engineer

We are currently partnering with an innovative company that provide safety critical solutions to help nuclear, space and aerospace as well as industrial companies.  A Global Engineering business who are a design and manufacture leader -Providing exceptional expertise is vital when working with clients whose processes operate in extreme environments.  Our client is looking for an individual who can operate in the capacity of Quality Engineer
 
As Quality Engineer you will ensure that the manufacturing processes are optimised for safety and efficiency. You will manage a production team, dealing with health, safety and environmental hazards and troubleshooting production line issues.
 
 
Key Responsibilities as Quality Engineer:
 

  • Conducting audits with external suppliers, projects, products, and process audits, supporting the business management audit program
  • Supporting and facilitating the non – conformance management process, ensuring that non – conformance’s are recorded and managed in a timely manner
  • Facilitate and work with Project Managers with the devising of and implementation of Quality Plans
  • Supporting PFMEA and design review activities as required
  • Support and host customer and third-party audits as required, including any source inspection activities.
  • Involvement with contract reviews in relation to projects as required and ensure that requirements are understood and achieved.
  • Monitoring supplier performance

Experience as Quality Engineer:

  • Educated to BTEC ONC or equivalent, preferably in a Quality related discipline – HNC level or above preferred or suitable experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
  • Strong knowledge of Quality management principles and techniques within a manufacturing environment, including working knowledge of non-conformance management principles and problem-solving techniques
  • Internal Auditor qualifications or experience of internal and /or supplier audits, lead auditor qualification preferred.
  • An understanding of First Article Inspection requirements, with knowledge of AS9102, Aerospace First Article Inspection Requirement would be desirable.
  • Prior experience of electronic, electro-mechanical and precision mechanical
  • Prior experience and a strong understanding of metrology techniques required for the inspection of precision mechanical components.

Essential Functions:

  • Able to attain UKSV SC security clearance.
  • Must occasionally be able to be prepared to work extended hours and travel within the UK and abroad as required.
  • Flexibility to work on the shop floor on occasion, although this is mainly an office-based position.
