My client is a renowned company specialising in the distribution, support, and servicing of sliding head lathes and precision machinery in the United Kingdom. They are looking for another PDI Engineer to join their fantastic team in Derby.
PDI Engineer Role and Responsibilities:
- Performing maintenance and servicing of machines
- Conducting barfeed alignments
- Substituting parts and consumables when required
- Providing machine condition reports and suggesting additional service tasks
- Installing a variety of machines and barfeeds
PDI Engineer Requirements:
- Reporting directly to the Service Manager, the position involves installing and servicing a diverse selection of sliding head lathes, barfeeds, and additional equipment.
- Essential qualifications for the candidate encompass a robust mechanical background, while a fundamental grasp of electrical circuits is preferable. Moreover, familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems is advantageous.
- Although experience with FANUC control systems and multi-axis CNC lathes is preferred, expertise in sliding head operations isn’t obligatory due to comprehensive training being provided.
- The ideal candidate should possess self-motivation, displaying the ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team setting. Effective communication skills and proficiency in IT are also imperative.
- The role necessitates extensive travel within the UK and Eire, requiring occasional overnight stays.
