We are partnering with one of the UK’s leading WEEE waste processors and recyclers. Our combined expertise and investment in technology allows us to deliver a sustainable solution for WEEE recycling. Established for over 35 years, we hold major contracts with local authorities, utility companies, and businesses. As a result of continuous growth, we’re seeking a skilled Plant Fitter/Mechanic (Maintenance Engineer) to join our successful team.
Maintenance Engineer Responsibilities
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair industrial shredders, granulators, conveyor belts, and other plant machinery.
- Fix faults on plant machinery or arrange for replacements.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on plant machinery and lorries.
- Perform welding activities as needed.
- Address breakdowns, unplanned problems, and repairs.
- Ensure the functionality of safety systems.
- Install new parts and verify equipment functionality.
Maintenance Engineer Requirements
- Previous mechanical and electrical experience.
- Experience repairing mobile plant (forklifts, lorries).
- Prior experience in lorry (HGV) maintenance or general vehicle maintenance (advantageous).
- Experience repairing machinery such as conveyor belts, industrial shredders, and granulators.
- Experience repairing/maintaining industrial machinery.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems (advantageous).
- Welding skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills.
- The role will be physically demanding.
- UK Driving License.
