Our client, a pioneer in WEEE waste processing and recycling, is seeking a seasoned General Manager to oversee their recycling operations across multiple sites in Berkshire. With over 35 years of industry experience, they’re committed to sustainable solutions and have secured new contracts that demand operational expansion.
General Manager Responsibilities:
As the General Manager, you’ll be responsible for:
- Leading Operations: Managing daily recycling operations, ensuring efficient processing of WEEE waste.
- Team Management: Overseeing a team of 75, including plant supervisors and operational staff.
- HR Management: Handling recruitment, training, performance reviews, and staff relations.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations and environmental standards.
- Financial Management: Contributing to budgeting, cost control, and performance tracking.
General Manager Requirements:
- Proven experience in senior operations management within the waste, recycling, or related industries.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and manage a large team.
- A solid understanding of recycling or engineering processes, machinery, and environmental regulations.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- A commitment to sustainability and a passion for operational excellence.
