Design Engineer Salary – £35k – £45k

 

The Company:

 

My client, a specialist engineering company providing expertise in the composites sector for the design of tooling, manufacture, and delivery of composite products are looking for an experienced Design Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. They have a growing order book and as part of their development plan have opportunities in all departments. This is an opportunity you don’t want to miss!

 

 

Design Engineer Role and Responsibilities:

 

• The design of composite tooling, jigs, and components.
• Read and produce GD&T drawings for production and assembly.
•  Liaising with high-profile customers and advising them on their products.
• Applying engineering knowledge to approach design tasks.
• Achieving business targets within the engineering schedule.
• Communication within the manufacturing departments
• Knowledge of composites and how composite components are manufactured.

 

Design Engineer Requirements:

 

• Good Team worker
• Logical reasoning with a “can-do attitude”
• Good organisational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, and on multiple concurrent projects.
• At least 2 years’ experience using CATIA V5, including a surfacing workbench.
• At least 2 years’ experience with tooling design.
• The ability to understand functional and cost implications of end products when considering design criteria.
• Basic knowledge of the make-up of race cars and road cars.
• Basic knowledge of CNC machining for technical reference.
• A minimum of 2 years working within the F1/Motorsport/Automotive industry
