Design Engineer
We are on the lookout for a Design Engineer to join a very well-established manufacturing company close to Hereford.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with the contracts team, delivering exceptional engineering designs and drawings for innovative product development. You’ll leverage your expertise in 3D Solidworks and AutoCAD to create detailed and accurate manufacturing drawings, ensuring smooth production processes.
Design Engineer Responsibilities
- Design and Development: You’ll be a key player in transforming ideas into reality. This involves preparing manufacturing-ready drawings, specifying components for testing and procurement, and ensuring products meet design objectives and client specifications through collaboration with colleagues and consultants.
- Problem-Solving and Collaboration: Proactively identify and resolve manufacturing issues during the early design stages, liaising with internal departments to ensure a smooth transition from concept to production.
- Technical Expertise: Utilize your skills in 2D and 3D modelling and drawing creation to meet customer requirements and maintain accurate drawing register content.
- Innovation and Support: Contribute to the development of new products by applying your technical expertise and collaborative spirit.
Design Engineer Skills and Experience:
- Technical Proficiency: Possess a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of manufacturing techniques to guarantee accuracy in your drawings. Proficiency in AutoCAD software and SolidWorks is essential.
- Innovation and Adaptability: Demonstrate a proven track record of developing products within a dynamic technological landscape.
- Independent Initiative: Combine excellent organizational, time management, and planning skills with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Communication and Collaboration: Effectively build strong relationships with colleagues, offering guidance and support throughout the manufacturing process.
- Software Expertise: Be confident in utilizing Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint).
- Proven Experience: Possess at least 3+ years of experience in the field, supported by relevant engineering design qualifications.
