CNC Grinder

CNC Grinder – Yeovil – £29.31 per hour – NIGHT SHIFT
 
This CNC Grinder position involves producing high-spec aerospace parts using internal, external, surface, and thread grinding machines. As a CNC Grinder, you will work to exact drawings and process layouts, ensuring every component meets strict customer and regulatory standards. This CNC Grinder role also requires full BPSS security clearance due to the nature of the work.
 
Key responsibilities of the CNC Grinder include:

• Operating MDI CNC grinding machines for internal and external grinding
• Completing surface and thread grinding to aerospace specifications
• Carrying out Operator Control of Quality (OCQ) checks and stamping
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and route cards
• Delivering work on time and to the required quality standard
• Working effectively within a lean manufacturing environment

Essential skills for this CNC Grinder role:

• Proven experience as a CNC Grinder within a precision machining environment
• Strong understanding of tight tolerances, surface finishes, and concentricity
• Confident use of micrometers, comparators, air gauges, and surface finish measuring tools
• Strong Health & Safety awareness and process compliance
• Ability to work to targets in a customer-focused setting
• Full BPSS clearance, including Right to Work, DBS, and drugs screening

Desirable experience:

• Engineering apprenticeship or time-served background
• Honing experience
• Aerospace machining or inspection experience
