We are currently working with a long established and global manufacturing business who are on the lookout for an Applications Engineer to join their growing business.

The company are over a century old and have built an excellent reputation within their niche market delivering high-quality, bespoke solutions to clients all over the world. The Applications Engineer will utilise both technical and commercial knowledge in a customer facing position, developing solutions for a range of enquiries.

Key responsibilities as Applications Engineer:
- Use extensive engineering background to assist with technical queries.
- Prepare and deliver offers containing accurate and attractive commercial and technical terms.
- Produce offers within specific and tight guidelines set by both the business and the customer.
- Actively contribute to achieving company sales targets.
- Be responsible for preparing any hand-overs from resulting orders.
- Work with the purchasing team to identify and develop new suppliers.

Key metrics for the Applications Engineer:
- Submitting attractive offers
- Following up on al proposals and gaining feedback from customers.
- Successful hand-overs to operations.
- Maintain or improve margin on orders.
- Make sure all data is accurately completed andplaced within the correct system.

Key experience for the Applications Engineer:
- Relevant engineering qualification and / or experience.
- High levels of commercial awareness.
- Comfortable working with all levels of business.
- Confident in a customer facing role.
- Able to travel at relatively short notice.
- Computer literate
